We've seen our fair share of Frankenstein-inspired tales, from The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster to the upcoming Poor Things starring Emma Stone, Ramy Youssef, and others. But writer Diablo Cody and director Zelda Williams, daughter of the late Robin Williams, have come up with a brand new project for us. And this one's all about romance with a spooky twist.

Starring in the movie are Kathryn Newton, who you might know from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Cole Sprouse, from Riverdale. But this isn't your average love story. Kathryn plays a teen who's a little different from her peers, going through what adults would call a "goth phase." As for her boyfriend? Well, he's not exactly your typical Romeo. Handsome, sure - but he's also...a zombie! Lisa Frankenstein is a horror-comedy with a sprinkling of '80s nostalgia, directed by Zelda Williams, who's making her big directorial debut.

The film's script was written by Diablo Cody, the same genius behind Jennifer's Body. So something tells us this is going to be a good time. As for Kathryn and Cole? We can call them a match made in movie heaven. The teaser trailer gives us a sneak peek at what's in store - and it's both hilarious and horrifying. Here's a look at what you can expect:

As for Cole, well it's safe to say he's no stranger to the spooky genre. He's been rocking it over on Riverdale for years. So, the verdict is in: Lisa Frankenstein should definitely be your go-to movie this February for Valentine's Day season - if you prefer the spooky stuff when it comes to love stories. If you're into romance with a twist and a bit of dark humor, this one's gonna hit the spot. Will you be watching Lisa Frankenstein when it hits theaters on February 9, 2024? Be sure to let us know!
