Half of Modern Family's Hilarious Cast Meet Up for Mini-Reunion
| LAST UPDATE 10/17/2021
Some of the Pritchett/ Dunphy family gathered together for a mini Modern Family reunion, and it's like they're right back in Jay and Gloria's living room! Sofia Vergara, Sarah Hyland, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Julie Bowen got together five months after the series wrapped up filming it's last season.
"Thank you @jessetyler @justinmikita for our first Modern Fam reunion," Vergara shared. "Missing half of the gang!!! But so much fun!!!" Since half of the family was missing from the gathering, they're hoping to have another one sometime soon.
Ever since the cast began filming during the first of 11 seasons, they grew incredibly close and consider each other to be like family to this day. Earlier in the year, Julie Bowen reflected on the last day of filming with her onscreen family.
"There was something weird about the timing of that day," said Bowen. "It was really considered a half-day, and so we took this extra-long lunch hour, and there were people popping champagne. These two crew members had lost a fantasy football bet, and because they lost, they had to stand in front of the whole cast, and everybody sing a song."
"And there was just general sobbing, and Sofia [Vergara] had never even heard the song and was like, 'I don't know what it is, but it's making me so sad.'" Bowen continued. "I was like, 'This is sort of cheesy. Exactly right. And I love these people very much.'"
Ty Burrell, who played Phil Dunphy, wasn't able to make the reunion but gave his thoughts on the show's cast. "I think the closest analogy I can come up with is sort of like when you graduate from high school because we've been together for basically that amount of time, right?" he explained. "We're still gonna talk; We're gonna have coffee every weekend."
