Remember when we saw Lady Gaga step out onto the red carpet wearing nothing but... raw meat? Or when a rebellious Miley Cyrus shed her Disney title, while also shedding her, um, clothes, as she showed off her twerking skills? Safe to say, it's always a fun time when the VMA's come rolling around each year.

Lucky for you, we've got everything you need to know about this year's annual award show, and, well, as you can expect, it was definitely a night to remember...

So, what went down this past weekend, as the 2020 VMA's took to our screens? For starters, the socially-distanced ceremony was nothing we've ever seen before, literally. Then again, maybe that's because computerized audience members stole our seats, as we streamed it from our own beds.

That's right. In order to comply with COVID-19 health and safety standards, the typically buzzing annual event was, well, empty. That is, once you get past the fake crowd noises and digitized silhouettes used to silence the crickets. Did somebody say Hunger Games?

So, what did these lucky 'fans' witness before their very eyes? Let's start with Miley Cyrus' Midnight Sky performance, which had her take a trip - or swing - down memory lane, as she swung from a, you guessed it, wrecking ball. We're not kidding.

Of course, our twerking queen wasn't the only one who stole the show, though. For the first time ever in VMA history, Miss Gaga landed herself a new lifetime achievement trophy: the Tricon Award. Yep, because who wants to be a Triple Threat when you can be a... Triple Icon?

Of course, this newly titled Triple Icon didn't miss out on a chance to show off her swanky closet. Seriously, we're kind of jealous. We saw the pop queen step out in not one - but nine - jaw-dropping ensembles, and we've officially seen it all.
Then again, would you expect anything less?
