When Peacock announced Community: The Movie a couple of weeks ago, fans were thrilled to see their favorite band get back together again, but something was off. Upon the exciting news, OG cast member Donald Glover was not listed as an official cast member - and that definitely got the people worrying! But, not to fear, the sitcoms creator, Dan Harmon, confirmed Glover is "down to clown" in the project. Phew.
For those who never caught the hilarious show, Community first aired back in 2009 and ran for six seasons, with 110 episodes. The series follows a lawyer whose law degree was revoked and who joined a community college with a group of rather eccentric students. The show quickly became a fan favorite over its hilarious cast dynamic and meta-humor. However, the series had its final episode in 2014, devastating fans over its ending - until now...
During a conversation at Variety's Business Managers Breakfast, Harmon discussed the upcoming development behind the Community movie, giving audiences the inside scoop on what exactly is happening BTS. The series creator revealed the upcoming film is currently being scripted and addressed the rumors about Glover not joining the official cast. Harmon assured the audience he is not a fan of bringing back the NBC hit show without Glover, stating he "would not want to think about making [the movie] without Donald" involved. "For lack of a better word, there was a ball fumbled… [Glover] is down to clown," he confirmed. Well, that's good news for all of us!

This wasn't the first time Harmon shared his thoughts on Glover being MIA from Peacock's original announcement. "I think that Donald is coming, based on word of mouth, but it's just the deal isn't official or wasn't official. It would be difficult to really commit to doing this thing without Donald," Harmon told Variety. "So I believe he is coming back," he confidently confessed. On the other hand, most of the original cast will be involved in the upcoming project, scheduled for a 2023 release. So, stay tuned for more Community updates as we get them because we cannot wait to see the OG team get back together again at Greendale Community College.
