Disney is back to doing what it does best: creating content that the whole family can enjoy. Here's everything to know about their latest comedy project, Extraordinary, and its recently-announced cast members.

Extraordinary will center around a young woman named Jen, the only ordinary person in a society full of people with superpowers. Writer Emma Moran previously described the upcoming series as "somewhere in between a sitcom and a comedy-drama," which, TBH, is one of our favorite genres. "It's a slight skewer of the glut of superhero films and TV that's about at the moment, but at its core, it's really about being a bit lost and messy in your mid-20s," Emma explained. The popular streaming service has ordered eight episodes for the show's first season, and Extraordinary recently announced some new members to their stunning cast.

Siobhán McSweeney of Derry Girls and Máiréad Tyers of Belfast are the latest talents to join the show. The actors will work alongside previously-revealed cast members Sofia Oxenham (Poldark), Bilal Hasana (Teen Monologues), Robbie Gee (Boxing Day), Safia Oakley-Green (The Origin), and Luke Rollason. "A lot of [superhero] stories focus on being exceptional, but this is more of a celebration of being just okay," Emma Moran said of the series' intentions. And the comedic writer is taking inspiration from her own life. "It is a little autobiographical in that sense," she admitted.

Emma continued, "When it comes to writing in general, I tend to start with a character I find funny or interesting, and then build everything else around that. That way, it always helps it to stay quite grounded and truthful." And this is only the beginning for this rising comedy star. "Extraordinary is going to take up a lot of my time for the next while, but I've always got other projects in various stages of development," Moran shared. "My head's very much in TV at the moment, but I'd love to branch out one day into feature film and potentially direct."
