Hollywood is facing tough times these days, with writers and actors on strike and protesting hard. Because of these events, which have been ongoing since January 2023, many exhibitors and studios fear their release schedules will be affected. But the good news is, A24's dark comedy, Dream Scenario, has officially announced a release date!

The film, starring none other than Nicolas Cage, is set to hit theaters this fall, on November 10! Not only that, but it's scheduled to open Toronto Film Festival’s Platform section in September. Directed by Kristoffer Borgli and produced by Ari Aster, Dream Scenario follows the story of a hapless family man named Paul Matthews (played by Cage). His life changes drastically - for the worse - when he suddenly, and with no explanation, begins to appear in the dreams of millions of strangers. And soon, those dreams turn into absolute nightmares, and Matthews must figure out a way to face this new reality of his.

Starring alongside Cage in the dark comedy are Julianne Nicholson, Dylan Baker, Kate Berlant, Michael Cera, Dylan Gelula and Tim Meadows. Following Hereditary, Midsommar and Beau Is Afraid starring Joaquin Phoenix, Dream Scenario is the fourth collaboration between Square Peg and A24. And with Ari Aster's influence, fans can rest assured that a unique and unconventional project is in the works. Not only that, but Cage's portrayal of the main character is sure to make the film a smash success.

However, the SAG-AFTRA strike still poses a problem for Dream Scenario. The film itself has been completed, and the actors have done their parts for it. However, there are still some serious restrictions when it comes to film distribution. For example, SAG-AFTRA actors are not allowed to engage in tours, interviews, social media promotion, and festivals, making promotion for the film quite difficult. But for Dream Scenario in particular, this could be even more of a challenge. So without a TIFF premiere, the film might not be able to reach the audiences it would have had before the strikes began. But without a doubt, those involved in the project hope Nicolas Cage's talent can bring Dream Scenario the hype it needs in order to succeed. Stay tuned!
