We might normally know him as a guardian of the galaxy, but Chris Pratt's upcoming adventure will have him looking slightly different. Here's what we know about the Marvel star's latest comedy...
Titled The Black Belt, the indie film will provide a modern-day twist to our favorite karate tales. As Deadline reported, we'll follow a shy teen boy on a quest to make a name for himself. *Enter Chris Pratt.* Starring as the teen's unorthodox uncle, we'll watch the actor as he guides his nephew on a journey of self-discovery.

Of course, though, that won't be without a few laughs along the way. Not only will Pratt be starring and producing the upcoming project, but another special guy is set to take the reigns as well: Paul Briganti. Ring a bell? The Hollywood giant has been directing Saturday Night Live for years now. And if his latest directorial gig is anything like we've seen before? We're in for a real treat.
As for when we'll get to tag along on the action-packed (and hilarious) adventure? While we have yet to hear word on a release date, it appears we might be waiting a while. Nonetheless, something tells us it'll be well worth the wait. And we're actually not the only ones who feel that way.
"I’m so excited to not only be working from a script that’s timeless and hilarious but to be working with producers who are driven by outstanding storytelling," Briganti gushed. But that doesn't mean he's not a little, um, jittery. "It feels odd though that they want me to direct a movie about an anxious nerd because I was very cool and popular as a kid. No one fact checks these, right?" the director joked.
While we have yet to find out for ourselves if Briganti's "suave" self will brush off on the poor teen, these Netflix comedic gems will certainly keep us busy in the meantime. (Thank us later.)
And of course, don't forget to stay tuned.
