Andy Samberg and Melissa Fumero Reunite On New Animated Series
| LAST UPDATE 09/18/2022
Brooklyn Nine-Nine was an iconic show. With its hilarious punchlines and loveable characters, fans could not get enough of the gang down at the 99th precinct. Since the show aired its last episode in September 2021, we've all been waiting to hear what the cast will do next. Recently we reported that Melissa Fumero, AKA Amy Santiago, will be starring in the new Netflix comedy series, Blockbuster. However, that's not it! Keeping her schedule packed full, the actress is also set to star alongside her ex-tv-husband, Andy Samberg, in a new adult animated comedy series Digman! Here's everything we know so far.
Created by Samberg and Brooklyn Nine-Nine writer Neil Campbell, Digman! tells of a world where archeologists are at the top of the celebrity chain. "As kids, we were led to believe that archaeologists are all badass, adventure-seeking rock stars, but after spending 20 long years pursuing careers in archaeology, we now see that was a lie perpetuated by Big Hollywood," Samberg and Campbell said in a statement. "So we created Digman! to finally bring our childhood dreams to life. Plus, we noticed a dearth of new TV shows recently and figured it was wholly on us to bring the world what it's missing the most: CONTENT."
As expected, the cast is packed-full of comedy legends. Samberg will voice the show's protagonist, Rip Digman, while the rest of the cast will be audio played by Melissa Fumero, Tim Robinson (SNL), Mitra Jouhari (Big Mouth), Dale Soules (Orange Is The New Black), Tim Meadows (The Goldbergs), and Guz Khan (Our Flag Means Death).

Digman! is set to air in January 2023 on Comedy Central. "Andy is a singular creative force with a vision to explore bold, genre-shifting, comedic storytelling," said Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios' president of content, Nina L Diaz. "We are thrilled to partner with him, The Lonely Island, and CBS Studios on Digman! – the first series Andy has written and produced – to Comedy Central's robust animation line-up." As for us, we can't wait to have our favorite tv couple reunited on screen, even if it is just their voices! Beggars can't be choosers!
