For starters, no need to hop in the car and make the trek to the closest audition site near you. This year, the talent-show's hopefuls can audition from virtually anywhere. No, really... anywhere. The bathroom? Your kitchen counter? "Literally from anywhere, just keep it clean because even though they're virtual auditions, there are producers," celeb judge Katy Perry joked in a promotional video (below).

That’s right, making it to Hollywood has suddenly never been easier. Whether it’s at home or on the road, American Idol‘s judges are all ears – literally. Thanks to “Idol Across America,” all you’ll need to land a spot on the upcoming season is a webcam and some Wi-Fi. Yes, really – it’s that simple. Here’s how it works.

As the official website announced, hopeful users can go about the virtual audition process in 2 different ways: "Reserve your spot for an in-person virtual IDOL ACROSS AMERICA audition with show producers, or submit your online video audition today." Oh, and those feeling ambitious can also audition both ways.

In case you forgot, last season's winner Chayce Beckham, actually auditioned for the show during his lunch break. "It just depends on your consistency and your drive, which will determine the outcome of your success," Beckham put it. That being said, what are you waiting for? Your ticket to superstardom might just be one bathroom selfie away. Head on over to the official ABC website today to see if you have what it takes.

Good luck and be sure to stay tuned for all the latest updates!
