Ask the average comedy lover, and they'll tell you they know Zach Galifianakis from The Hangover trilogy, Between Two Ferns, or The Campaign. But chances are that you won't hear his name in the same sentence as "library." Unless you're asking his kids, of course...
Our favorite deadpan actor recently chatted with Entertainment Tonight and explained the little secret in the Galifianakis-Lundberg household. He and his wife of nine years, Quinn Lundberg, share two sons, a seven-year-old and a four-year-old. But mums the word about dad's work in their household. Zach has kept his blockbuster career a secret to his boys, telling them that he works in the noble field of library management instead. "They think I'm an assistant librarian somewhere," Zach shared during the interview.
And so, you guessed it, neither of them has seen any of his movies - especially not the raunch classics, The Hangover trilogy. "They shall never know if it," he clarified to the interviewers. "I'll just deny it. I'll say, 'I don't know what you're talking about. I had nothing to do with that movie.'" It looks like Zach was grappling with the same issues many celebs have faced when it comes to their children realizing more details about their parents' work. And while some parents have been laxer about their kids seeing their content, Zach won't be budging on his fatherly secret for the time being.
"They need to mature about it," the dad-of-two explained. But hey now, what would a Zach Galifianakis interview be without a little bit of that deadpan humor? He obviously found a way to squeeze it in. "People used to come up to me and be like, 'Oh, my kids love The Hangover,'" the Emmy Award-winning actor recalled. "And I'm like, 'You're a terrible parent.'" We wonder when he'll finally let them in on his real identity? One thing's for sure: take your kid to work day will be an interesting one for these kiddos!
