It's the ultimate honor. A true sign of fame: a waxwork figure in the Madame Tussauds Hall of Fame. But with the recent unveiling of Zendaya's new figure at Madame Tussauds London, the question arises - does it even count when your fans don't believe it's you?!
On Wednesday, Madam Tussauds took to their Instagram to announce that Zendaya would be the new addition to their vast array of wax figures. "From cinema screens to tv screens, to buying a home in London, Zendaya is EVERYWHERE rn…, and from Friday her figure will be at Madame Tussauds London too," they boasted. However, the response was unlikely to be the one they expected as users flocked to Instagram and Twitter to roast the waxwork with hilarious comments. "I think we need to try again..." one user joked. Others couldn't help but point out the figure's simplistic appearance. "Why does Zendaya's wax figure look like a flight attendant?" one user mused. "The wax version of Zendaya looks like she wants to speak to the manager," another joked. LOL.
Fans have even gone as far as to suggest the wax figure looks more like Kylie Jenner than the Euphoria actress. "Kylie Jenner, is that you?" a user quipped. "At first sight, I would agree that looks like Kylie Jenner on the front of a Forbes magazine page in a pink suit instead…" another user agreed. Although in the minority, some Zendaya fans have decided to support the waxwork, throwing shade at the critics. "The wax figure looks just like her. It's a great likeness. Considering what others have looked like. At least you can tell it's her," one fan insisted. "Lmao, when you all have enough money to make and own wax figures, then you can comment about what it looks like," another mocked.

Although Zendaya has yet to respond, a spokesperson for Madame Tussauds has released a statement: "'We understand that when fans are incredibly passionate, they might feel differently until they have had the chance to see it up close." Madame Tussauds is no stranger to waxwork controversy, in the past facing backlash for their statues of Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Styles, and Beyonce. They have never officially credited these criticisms for their updated waxworks, but we will definitely keep our eyes peeled for a Zendaya wax makeover!
