It's been a few years now that Simone Biles has been known as the GOAT (greatest of all time). And while it may have started as a lighthearted joke, Twitter took it to a whole new level. The social media platform dedicated a new emoji to the Olympian.
The emoji debuted on the platform earlier in July and featured an animated goat complete with a gold medal and red leotard. And as if the custom emoji wasn't enough of an honor, Simone also got bragging rights as the first Olympian to ever get her own emoji. The cartoon will appear automatically with hashtags including #SimoneBiles or #Simone throughout the multi-week athletic event in Tokyo. But longtime fans of the Olympian may know that this didn't stop with an emoji...

Ever since breaking onto the Olympic stage back in 2016, Simone Biles has dominated gymnastics and taken the sport to new levels of popularity. And so it only made sense that the GOAT nickname quickly followed. Back in 2019, the gold medalist appeared at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City with a bedazzled leotard. The suit had the head of a goat traced out of rhinestones, which Biles nicknamed "Goldie." And though the Olympian later told People that whole thing was nothing but a "running joke," it certainly picked up speed.
"I don't think of myself as the G.O.A.T. and that's not why I wear the goat on my leo," she told People. "It was kind of a joke in the beginning. I wore one in 2019 and it was just funny because the haters were so upset... So I was happy because it's like good, now you guys are annoyed because you're annoying me." So we could only guess that the haters are loving this new trending Twitter feature...
So be sure to stay tuned for more comedic stories coming out of the Olympic Village. This event will sure to be the Greatest of All Time...
