Is there anything more amusing than a Hollywood bromance? From Adam Levine and Blake Shelton to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, these A-lister best buds keep us entertained with LOL-worthy shout-outs and pranks that leave us in stitches time and time again. And lucky for us, there's a new dynamics duo to add to the list of Hollywood BFFs: Tom Holland and Simu Liu.
The friendship confirmation went down during one of Simu's public appearances, where he spoke to an adoring crowd of teens at the BBYO International Convention. The Marvel Universe star was trying to hype up the crowd with his inspirational messages, but the Gen-Zers were interested in one thing and one thing only: celeb gossip. One audience member asked Liu if he knew the one and only Tom Holland, to which Simu responded by trying to ring up the former Spider-Man himself! "He's not picking up," Simu confessed to the crowd. Can I play you a voice memo that he left for me once?" And it was safe to say that the wild cheering was a solid indication that they wanted to hear.
As the crowd fell silent, Simu held his phone up to the microphone and played the adorable voice note left by his number one fan. "Dude, I just watched Shang-Chi bro," Tom said in his British accent. "That film is so ****ing awesome!" The audience went absolutely bananas for Tom's personal shout-out, and Simu used the opportunity to wrap up his inspirational pep-talk. "So I guess the lesson is: work really hard and follow your dreams and maybe one day Tom Holland will watch your movie and leave you a voice memo," the Canadian-born actor joked. It may not have been the most practical advice, but something tells us that this was the highlight of the convention for these teens. And we can definitely see why!
All that's left to do now is wait for our beloved Uncharted star to respond to the viral news of his and Simu's budding friendship. And we can't wait to see what public declaration of bromance comes next from these Marvel legends. Stay tuned.
