There's nothing like a random act of kindness to restore your faith in humanity. As you already know, Oprah loves to give and her foundation made a $3 million donation to assist the South Los Angeles residents that are suffering during the pandemic, as coronavirus cases continue to surge in California.

The donation was made to the new coalition, South LA Forward. They provide fresh food, COVID-19 testing, healthcare and financial assistance to those who lost their jobs during the pandemic.

'We were incredibly honored to be selected by the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation along with SEE-LA and Watts Healthcare,' said Sherri Francois, the executive director of SoLa I Can Foundation.

In a statement, Oprah said: "I was struck by the unique multi-layered approach to effect real change to the systematic barriers of access to healthy food, quality health care and educational opportunities." She decided that a generous 3 mil will at least spark a start.

Oprah continued, “I know not everybody can donate a million dollars, but I feel like this is the central place to [donate to] if you really want to do something,” Winfrey said during their virtual interview. “I know I can trust my money in your hands.”

Well, when it comes to helping each other out through this difficult time, it sounds like Oprah's money was well spent.
