We can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to be on pick-up duty after school, only to run into Chris Hemsworth. Well, Natalie Portman was one of those parents who happened to pick up her kids at the same time as Hemsworth. And despite their working relationship, she still freaked out! Here's what went down in the carpool lane...
Hemsworth and Portman are no strangers to the big screen... or each other. The Hollywood actors have starred alongside each other in the Thor franchise over the years and are gearing up for the premiere of their latest film, Thor: Love and Thunder. The soon-to-be box office hit was filmed in Australia, where Hemsworth and all his charm hails from - so when it came to filming, Portman and her family joined the Australian actor down under. In a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Portman revealed to the guest host, Sean Hayes, details about a hilarious day of after-school pick-up.
While the actors were on set in Australia filming Thor: Love and Thunder, Portman once spotted her fellow co-star attempting to pick up his kids during peak after-school rush hours without being noticed. Portman told Hayes, "Chris' kids, for a period of the shooting, came to town and went to the same school as my kids," and "One day, we ended up at school pick up at the same time, and I just felt so bad for him." Portman has two children, Aleph, 11, and Amalia, 5, and Hemsworth is a dad of three to India, 10, and twin boys Tristan and Sasha, 8.
The actress explained that during pickup hours, she "can kind of camouflage with the moms" due to her petite size, but Hemsworth "comes in, and it's like a Greek god walking through!" The actress shared that on this particular day of pick-up, the duo arrived at the same time, and she spotted Hemsworth attempting to hide behind a tree - but he was "unable to obviously," given how famous he is! Of course, the actor is "really famous everywhere," but she revealed that in Australia, his popularity skyrockets. The Marvel actress jokingly told Hayes, "It felt like some weird sitcom of the superheroes at school pickup-up, you know?" Oh, we know. And we would love nothing more if Thor, picked us up after school...
