Pete Davidson and Miley Cyrus are set to host Miley's New Years' Eve Party together, and the pair appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the event. But the two celebs had us questioning the nature of their relationship after Cyrus hilariously serenaded the comedian with a song. Here's what went down.
"I'm happy to be here for our debut as a duo," said the Wrecking Ball artist. Miley and Pete revealed that their friendship started back in 2017 after appearing together on a Saturday Night Live skit, "The Baby Step." Davidson explained, "We were [dressed as] babies that were rapping, trap babies." After the show, they went out and got matching tattoos. Except for the King of Staten Island star admitted he got his "we babies" ink lasered off. Talk about awkward.

Miley then took to the stage to share her true feelings for her co-host. She sang Yvonne Fair's classic hit, It Should Have Been Me, clearly referring to the comedian's new relationship with reality TV star Kim Kardashian. "Pete Davidson, this song is for you," Cyrus said before the performance. The singer then proceeded to sing how "it should have been me" that got caught going on dates with Pete, adding her own improvised lyrics, "Baby, how could you do this me, on the week of promoting our special."
The We Can't Stop singer hilariously moved over to Davidson and placed her leg on his lap while belting out the song to him directly. At one point, she even took his hat and placed it atop her head. Cyrus added even more of her own words, "It should have been me in that Lmaborgini leaving that nice a** restaurant; I'm going to watch a movie in freaking Staten island." The whole thing had Davidson laughing through her show.
What did the Kardashian think of it? Well, while she hasn't given a formal response, she did 'like' Miley's Instagram post revealing who will host her New Years Event with her. So, we can only assume she's okay with Cyrus's infatuation and finds it as hilarious as we do.
