Lenny Kravitz's First TikTok Post Features Giant Viral Scarf

Lenny Kravitz is officially on TikTok, and much to the amusement of millions of his fans, he's bringing one of the funniest moments of his career back to the Internet. The rock-and-roller made his TikTok debut in perfect Lenny Kravitz fashion - literally - featuring an article of clothing most of us know all too well...

But for those who missed it, let's go back to 2012, where it all started. Lenny Kravitz became an instant meme when he was spotted out running errands wearing one of the largest and thickest scarves we'd ever seen. Paparazzi captured the hilarious finishing touch to his outfit, and the image turned into a gift that just keeps on giving. Even more than a decade later, the artist still can't seem to escape questions about it. So he decided to make the best of it, and incorporated the unforgettable meme into his first TikTok post: "Grab your big scarf, it’s the first day of fall," the Fly Away artist caption the video while walking toward the camera wearing the giant brown scarf.

Kravitz once opened up about the hilarious, viral photo during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in September 2018. "I cannot escape this," Kravitz joked, as he began to tell the background story. "I live in the Bahamas, I'm used to hot weather and I had to go to the store, I was buying some groceries and I thought I'd put on a little scarf to protect my throat, and that's the scarf I had." And, like always, Jimmy's response was exactly what we were all thinking at the time: "But Lenny, this is not a scarf, it's a blanket!"

"That was the day I thought I would break it out, and I had no idea that there would be paparazzi and that is now everything," Kravitz continued. He even made the hilarious comment that it seems the scarf grows even larger each year, thanks to talented Internet meme-makers with Photoshop skills. "Here's the thing about the internet, though, that's the problem — the scarf keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger," he explained. LOL.
