Happy Mother's Day to all the momma's out there; we hope you spent it exactly how you wanted to! Whether that meant a family-packed day at an overcrowded brunch spot, an overwhelming family barbecue at a distant aunt's house, or an intimate dinner with the ones that are closest to ya. Or, in Kristen Bell's case, without the kids or her husband, Dax Shepard. LOL.
Every year there is a strange amount of pressure to have the "perfect" Mother's Day, but what does that really entail? For actress Kristen Bell, the perfect Mother's Day was to spend the holiday far away from fellow actor Dax Shepard and her two daughters, Lincoln, 9, and Delta, 7. "I want to go somewhere where none of my family is," she joked to E! News on the red carpet at the Funny Girl premiere, regarding her Mother's Day plans. The actress added she already sees them "all the time." We love. need. and appreciate. her energy.
"My husband says there's such a double standard where dads go golf all day and go to dinner, and moms are supposed to be served by the 3-year-old all day and like watercolor with them," she added. "No, I do a dads style Mother's Day." The Good Place actress continued, "Leave me alone, I'm out." Again, we love and need her energy. This sounds like a Mother's Day dream - and we hope she enjoyed every moment of it (with or without her kids).
Bell is no stranger to the parenting universe! She has taken her expertise to EllenTube in her digital series Momsplaining With Kristen Bell, where she shares some hilariously challenging moments of motherhood, giving moms a cheerful escape. "Parenting is a lot like sports—you're either winning or losing every minute of the day," Kristen shared on the series. "Mostly losing, but that's what makes the winning so sweet and fleeting."
