Jennifer Coolidge Gives Hilarious Update on Legally Blonde 3

What, like it's hard? Jennifer Coolidge is more than ready for a Legally Blonde reunion. But Paulette's return to our screens isn't as simple as it sounds. Here's what the blonde beauty recently had to say about a reboot to the classic comedy.

It all started when the Hollywood actress took to the 2021 Gotham Awards red-carpet to let us know what she's been up to - including, of course, her speculated return to the Legally Blonde franchise. For starters, count her in. "If Reese [Witherspoon] comes down the carpet tonight, you tell her yes. Tell her I'm in. Yes!" joked Coolidge of picking up her beloved role of Paulette.

As for when that day will come - should we be so lucky? "You never know," Coolidge confessed. "This is show business. I don't know. I could be replaced with a roller-skating character or something. I don't know!" We've got a feeling that won't be happening, Jennifer. After all, could a roller-skater truly do the bend & snap justice? We rest our case.

"All I know is Mindy Kaling and her [writing] partner [Dan Goor] just finished the script... but Reese hasn't given me any details," the actress continued. "She sends me little DMs and hearts and says, you know, 'Getting geared up,' but I haven't gotten the official, 'We're filming in July' or anything yet." Consider our fingers crossed.

In case you forgot, back in January, Mindy Kaling first teased Legally Blonde 3: "When Reese asked me to write it I was like, 'Absolutely!'" the comedian announced of the long-awaited sequel. Since then, she and Brooklyn Nine-Nine creator, Dan Goor, have been hard at work penning Elle's latest adventure. "I can't wait to see what people will think of the way we wrote... how Elle is at 40 versus how she was at 21 has been really fun to imagine."

While we'll have to wait and see how this one plays out, our endorphins (which make you happy, by the way) are already running wild.
