Not all superheroes wear capes. Some, hold tridents and go by the name of Aquaman. Just ask Tia Johnson, who was met with the ultimate surprise after Jason Momoa got behind the camera to send his #1 fan some love.
It all started on April 18th, as Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson took to the 'gram to wish his mini-me a happy birthday. "Happy Birthday to my sweetest lil’ Tia Giana," Johnson gushed of his three-year-old. How sweet, right? But while Tia Giana might have been feeling all of the love, her father certainly wasn't...
“Now this is getting ridiculous,” the actor joked of his daughter’s growing obsession with Jason Momoa – or should we say, Aquaman. "For Tia’s birthday, she insisted Aquaman join us for breakfast — and then after we eat, she asked daddy to draw Aquaman so she can FRAME IT and hang it up in her room."
That's right, her dad might be one of the most powerful island demigods, but he's certainly no Aquaman. At least that's how Tia put it, when asked who she thought was cooler: Moana's Maui, or, of course, Aquaman. "She didn't even wait til I finished the question before answering definitively, 'Aquaman!'"
Ouch, that's got to hurt. But while the Rock might not be living this one down anytime soon, what happened next must have earned him some points in Tiana's book. "I had to make the call...it’s what daddy’s do," the comedian revealed after blessing his little one with the ultimate birthday surprise.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t be there, but I love you and tell your papa that I love him too,” the Aquaman star shared after sending over a personalized message for his #1 fan. “I can’t thank my brother @prideofgypsies enough for making this adoring 3yr old’s birthday the best EVER,” Johnson gushed of the sweet exchange.
Safe to say, we can all learn a thing or two here. One, Maui clearly doesn't stand a chance against Aquaman. And perhaps more importantly, there's nothing like a father's love for his daughter. We can't wait to see where the Rock and little Tia's next chapter together takes them.
