Who's not a fan of this pop culture icon? Millions of people around the world would pay the big bucks to see this singer perform up-close. But apparently, those who get to be around her for free don't feel the hype. In a recent appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Jennifer Lopez hilariously described how her teen twins don't quite agree that she's the coolest mom around.
When asked about her children, J.Lo described herself as a "very affectionate mom," who's always giving her kids hugs and kisses. But it turns out that doesn't bring about the type of reaction one would expect after getting such love from the world-famous singer. I like to hug them and kiss them a lot, and you know, always talking to them, sweet and everything," Lopez shared. "And now they're like, 'Mom, no. Don't get out of the car at school.' Like that type of thing." She laughed, adding, "It hurts my heart!" It certainly hurts ours as well.
Just like us, Ellen couldn't quite figure out how Lopez's kids aren't proud to have her as a mother. The Marry Me star's response was, "They love it and they don't. I think they're very proud and they love me, I love them. The three of us are like super, super close. But it's a thing that people know who their mom is. They're navigating that. They're teenagers now… their friends know things. There's so much on the internet… so it's crazy." We can only imagine! But, despite all the challenges that come with such an atypical mother-children relationship, Lopez shared that she and her kids have found a way to maintain their closeness. "All you can do is love each other through it. And that's all I've tried to do with them," the 52-year-old mom assured. We definitely agree!
