When Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's name is trending across social media, we can assume that there's a new action or comedy movie on the horizon most of the time. But this viral moment has less to do with Hollywood and more about a funny clip that surfaced years ago.
Back in 2017, the famous wrestler-turned-actor posted a video to social media while he was sweating away during one of his grueling workouts. Yet fans' attention wasn't so much on the muscles; a water bottle captured in the frame drew most people's attention.
"I realized you just saw my big bottle of pee," Johnson said in the clip. "Look, I go hardcore when I train; I don't have time to go to the bathroom." And while that might have been enough of an explanation for Dwayne, the internet was left amused and confused by his perplexing gym habit.
Flash forward to 2021, and the Red Notice star finally decided to give us a deeper explanation behind the viral moment from four years prior. He laid it all on the table during his recent sit-down with Esquire. "Usually, the gyms that I work out in don't have a bathroom because they're the iron paradise. They're just hot, sweaty, and dirty," the Hobbs & Shaw explained. And with the workouts that he's doing, he "[breaks] out the bottle" to empty the tank.
It's safe to assume that such a grueling workout would require some regular hydration to match - hence the bathroom dilemma. But despite the confusion after the 2017 clip, The Rock was able to clear up the whole ordeal. "It's not a water bottle that I've actually purchased solely for water that you wash and clean when you're done using it," Dwayne continued to explain. "These are just bottles that I'm no longer using."
Consider our questions answered. And while we finally know the truth behind The Rock's unique gym habits, we can guess his gym buddies may think twice before asking Dwayne for a drink mid-workout. Be sure to check back soon for more hilarious viral moments!
