In March of 2020, Dakota Johnson gave Architectural Digest a beautiful house tour. As she and the cameraman walked into her green kitchen, it was hard for viewers not to notice the gigantic bowl filled to the brim with limes. Many fan fans couldn't help but wonder what she could be doing with that amount of citrus fruit. Well, the actress has finally revealed what was going on. And the story is pretty hilarious.
The Hollywood tour began by the star mentioning it was the first home she had ever bought. Dakota settled for that one because of all the greenery, oversized windows, and wood design. "I just fell in love," she said. Johnson then showcased her living room that's full of vintage furniture, from the couch to the coffee table and even the piano. Next, she took us into her office that had many books all around the room. Finally, we got to see her "little kitchen." And that's where all of the lime shenanigans went down.
The 50 Shades of Gray actress didn't ignore the bowl overflowing with citrus fruit. She instead (quite strangely) said, "I love limes. I love them so much. They're great, and I love them so much, and I like to present them like this in my house." But it turns out that was a complete lie! Johnson made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she spilled the tea...
"I don't really care about limes. You know, they have somebody, who is super talented, come in and make your house look amazing," Dakota admitted. Meaning there was no real reason the limes were there; it was all just decoration set up by AD. "So, they put this big bowl of limes, which I saw while we were filming. And it was funny. So, I talked about it because who only has a bowl of limes? Apparently, me, " the actress continued. She goes on to clarify that she is actually allergic to the green fruit. "I did an allergy test a few weeks later, and it turns out that I'm allergic to limes," Johnson revealed. "But I never knew because usually when I have them, they're in tequila." LOL.
Well, there ya have it; the lime-gate situation has officially been resolved. We can all rest easy knowing the A-lister doesn't actually have a massive amount of limes just sitting in her kitchen.
