There are a variety of ways to subtly let your social media followers know you're newly single and ready to mingle. You could make the classic move and delete all photos of you and your ex-partner and wait for people to notice - or if you're on Facebook, you can quietly change your relationship status to single. However, if subtlety isn't really your thing, you're better off taking a leaf out of Camila Mendes's book and announcing it in a TikTok video! Here's how she broke the news...
Just last week, the Riverdale star took to TikTok, choosing a background audio that said just what she wanted to say. With an off-camera voice asking, "are you single?" Camila begins to lip-sync, "I am." Of course, the inevitable question is why? "I think my problem is that my Venus is in Pisces. I over-romanticize things so like I'll see somebody, and then I write a script for like how our relationship is gonna go, and then it's like when we're together, they don't follow the script, and I don't really **** with improv, so I lose interest," she continued to mouth to the audio.
Talking of going off script, Camila dated her Riverdale co-star Charles Melton from 2018 to 2019, when they decided to take a break from their relationship. In June 2021, they got back together, but the coupling fizzled out again shortly after. In an effort to customize the clip to her, she captioned it "venus in leo" and fans instantly flooded the comments section with messages of support and understanding. "This logic makes sense to me," wrote one. "Why is this so relatable?"laughed another.

This is not the first time Mendes has used TikTok to poke fun at her love life. Alongside her co-star Lili Reinhart - who dated Riverdale star Cole Sprouse for four years, and their co-star Madelaine Petsch - the star shares hilarious content to their joint TikTok page @blondebrunetteredhead. In one video, captioned, "us trying to figure out how to date people we don't work with," Camila and Lili's confused faces float around the screen. You gotta love some self-aware queens!
