It is New York Fashion Week, and anybody who is anybody is there right now. One of the best moments to come out of the week has been from the Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2023. Where The Devil Wears Prada star, Anne Hathaway, sat in the front row at the runway with none other than Anna Wintour!
Wintour has been the editor of Vogue for over 25 years, and the character Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada is famously based on her. So, when Wintour, in her signature oversized sunglasses, was seated next to Hathaway, fans could not help but obsess over the Hollywood movie moment. Not only were they sitting next to each other, but Hathaway's entire outfit seemed to pay homage to her role as Andy Sachs. She wore a crocodile leather jacket with a black turtleneck to the fashion show. The ensemble was incredibly similar to the brown leather jacket and black turtleneck she wore in the movie's final scene. Additionally, the 39-year-old actress's bangs she is currently rocking were an immediate throwback to when her character in the film gets a complete style makeover.
The runway show has not been the only time that Wintour and Hathaway have spent time together recently. While Wintour was answering "73 Questions" with Vogue, she had a call waiting for her from Anne Hathaway. Hathaway asks her, "What advice would you give someone who is intimidated by fashion?" Hathaway jokes that the advice is "just asking for a friend." Wintour responds that "there's room for everyone in fashion." What a fabulous response! Hathaway also loved it and immediately complimented Wintour, saying it was a "chic answer." Hathaway's role in Prada was completely iconic, so much so that 16 years after release, people are still freaking out over anything to do with the movie!
The movie was based on the book by Lauren Weisberger. The story follows journalist Andy who ends up working at the best fashion magazine in the world, despite knowing nothing about fashion, as an assistant for the big boss, Miranda Priestly. Meryl Streep famously played Priestly in the movie. Since premiering, the film has become a cultural icon, and this moment between Hathaway and Wintour only makes fans want more. For now, that's all!
