Adam Sandler's produced some pretty hilarious films over the years, including Happy Gilmore, one of his very first movies. This week, he celebrated the film's 25th anniversary by getting back into character on the golf course. Apparently, Sandler hasn't broken out his clubs in quite a while but is still sure that Happy can beat Shooter McGavin, who was played by Christopher McDonald in the film. He shared a video on social media to prove it.

"It's been 25 years since I've done this, let's see what happens," Sandler said in the video. "Shooter McGavin, this is for you." After taking a swing, Sandler said, "I'm not lying to you, this is smashed. Smashed. That went pretty well. You're dead, Shooter." In case you've forgotten, in the movie, Sandler's character, Happy, discovered his natural talent for golf when he entered a tournament in hopes of winning the prize money to save his grandmother's home.

Shooter was the only thing standing in the way between Happy and the house, and from that point on, the ongoing feud was born (on screen, of course). Once McDonald saw Sandler's video, he got right back into character and immediately posted a response. "Nice drive, Gilmore! Twenty-five years, huh?" he replied. "Let's see if it's Shooter's tour. Check it out... It's all about the short game."

"Thank you to all the fans and thank you to you, Adam Sandler, and why don't you just meet me at the ninth green at 9, Gilmore?" McDonald continued. "Oh, and Gilmore, wear something nice." And Shooter McGavin wasn't the only one with something to say about Happy's swing; Ben Stiller, who had a brief cameo in the film as the orderly at the elderly home, also chimed in. "That's a beautiful swing Mr. Gilmore," Stiller tweeted.

"Congrats on your anniversary, and being such a loving grandson. So happy to be a small part of taking good care of her during her 'golden years.'" Evidently, the banter between the Happy Gilmore cast will never come to an end, no matter how much time goes by!
