J. Cole just got one step closer to making his basketball dreams come true. The Detroit Pistons reached out to the KOD rapper after Master P revealed that he wanted to transition to the NBA.

The Detroit Pistons tagged Cole in a tweet, saying, "We see you out here. You said they only got 12 slots on the Pistons."

The offer for J. to "Hit us up for that tryout" came days after Master P revealed to TMZ that he spoke to to Cole himself, about moving over from hiphop to hoops. As you know, P already made the move himself back in 1998 and 1999 pre-seasons.
P said that he hopes Cole will be yet another rapper who makes the jump from rapping to basketball.

“When I talked to J. Cole, he was like ‘You know, big dog you did it. What do you think I would have to do to make it happen?,'” Master P explained. “I said to get one of these NBA jerseys, it’s not gonna be easy. It’s gonna be a lot of hate, it’s gonna be a lot of people not believing in you but you know J. Cole – he got the right size, he in the gym!”

J might have left us a few hints that he had an interest in basketball in the past. For example, Cole released a commercial for his new Puma basketball sneaker, the RS-Dreamer. In the clip, J can be seen training while Master P narrates.

J. Cole has expressed in the past that he gave up his basketball dreams to focus on his equally “delusional” desire to become one of the greatest rappers ever. Well, now that he's got the hiphop world covered, he might as well see if he can bring that magic to the court. Watch this space...
