One of the best parts about getting a coffee from Starbucks is the 2 seconds of feeling special when you see your name written on the cup. However, a very unhappy customer is going public about an unprofessional barista who wrote the word 'hippo' in the space where her name should have been.

Nadia Khan, 25, was on a coffee date with her mum at a Starbucks in Feltham, London. She decided to order her usual cookies n' cream frappuccino. When she collected her order, she noticed the word 'hippo' had been written in the spot which is usually where the customer's name is written.

At first, she didn't think anything of it. "When I got my drink, I noticed 'Hippo' but I dismissed it as really bad writing," Khan said.

She told her mother, Andria, of what happened and that's when she realized what had actually occurred. As any protective mama bear would be, Andria was furious and decided to confront the staff members. Andria spoke to a staff member by the name of Nadia who understood how terrible and offensive this was.

Nadia said to the staff that they should "treat customers with respect, no matter how skinny, fat or whatever."

The branch had to issue a statement apologizing to Nadia where they ensured they were doing the necessary actions so that nothing like this happens again.

Starbucks has responded to these accusations saying: "We have a longstanding tradition of connecting with our customers by writing their names on our cups. This incident is not indicative of the welcoming environment we aim to provide in our stores and have apologized to the customer directly. We are working closely with the store team to ensure it doesn't happen again."
