We've all let our emotions get the best of us sometimes. Like snapping at someone when you're hungry, or eating an entire chocolate cake. After that, once you've settled down and the storm has passed, you have no choice but to sit and think about what you've done.

So, we can all empathize with the little possum in Australia who trashed an entire office before seeming to feel rather guilty and shamefully sitting in the corner.

On a bright Monday morning, Bree Blakeman walked into the office to find that it had been totally vandalized. She immediately thought there had been a break-in when she saw paintings and maps thrown across the floor. There was also a hole in the ceiling and some tiles had been dislodged. The research fellow at the Australian National University in Canberra was just about to call the police when she found the suspect sitting remorsefully in the corner.

Blee explained that "It wasn't until I went to check my computer on the far side of the room that I noticed a fluffy little face staring at me from behind the computer and that's when I also noticed the toilet droppings and urine everywhere too. It all made sense. It seemed resigned and of course a bit shy and scared. Going by the number of books that had fallen from the shelves, I think it must have tried to climb up the shelves to get up through the ceiling again a number of times. So I think it was a bit exhausted too."

Of course, she felt bad for the little guy since he had landed himself in a rather frightening situation. Blee decided to show him some compassion after his long day of 'renovations'.

"I gave it some water, a piece of carrot, and a few kind words before closing the door and calling the relocation people. It wasn't uncomfortable for me at all. It was very sweet."

Just as they were about to set him free, a terrible hail storm came about so, he ended up sticking around for longer than expected. It took until Wednesday morning for the possum to feel brave enough to go outside and eventually, he made his way out.
