Gel Rodriguez, a Davao city resident, was ready for her latest escapade when she was ambushed with a brutal set back: Her strategically packed bags were 2kg over the allowed capacity, and overweight luggage fees seemed right around the corner.
But thanks to Rodriguez's quick wits, the crafty traveller was able to avert the impending penalties with a sneaky hack. Rather than purchasing a bonus bag, she decided to remove the heaviest items from her luggage and wear them...all.

The frugal ploy rid her of 2.5kg and as a result, the excess baggage fees. The crafty deed was immediately shared on Rodriguez's Facebook, with the hashtag #ExcessBaggageChallengeAccepted.
Sure enough, the hilarious achievement was deemed an instant hit, with over 20,000 shares and 30,000 likes.
