We’ve all suffered from the disappointment of ordering something online and it turns out to be far from what we expected. But surely one can’t inflict that kind of heartbreak on an unsuspecting pet? Well, we thought so until now.

Two-year-old Newfoundland Darcy loves nothing more than playing in a cool pool of water. With thick fur like hers, you can’t control Darcy if there’s a lake or river nearby. Her owner Chelsea Sparks, decided to surprise her big pup with her very own paddling pool to cool her down in the summer. But much to Darcy’s disappointment, the pool turned out to be big enough for her to wear as a hat.

Her owner Chelsea, who is a practicing lawyer, said: “Darcy absolutely loves water. Every time we take her to the dog park she gets straight in. So when the weather picked up my stepdad ordered her a pool online. He described the pool as a ‘bargain’ and said we may have to wait a little longer than usual as it was coming from China.”

She continued, “When it was delivered we didn’t know what it was as it was folded up so small. When we realised it was the dog pool we thought it was hysterical. We then put the pool next to Darcy and took a photo.”

Turns out, Chelsea’s dad had fallen victim to the false advert that showed dogs jumping in and out of the pool. However, once they took a picture of big Darcy next to the tiny bowl, they couldn’t help but laugh. Chelsea added: “We think it may have been a scam, however we were so entertained we didn’t give it much thought.” But don’t worry folks, they eventually got Darcy the pool she needed.

Chelsea continued, “My stepdad isn’t very technical so he didn’t realize. He hasn’t contacted the company yet, I am going to help him with this in the coming days. We sent photos to our friends, who all thought it was comical. That is when I decided to post it online to a dog group, as I knew they would find it funny too.”
