In a world filled with uncertainty, at least there's one thing you can always count on: Another Adam Sandler comedy. Incase you forgot, the actor was almost lead to Oscar glory for the film Uncut Gems. Sandler joked that if he didn't end up receiving the the award that everyone was buzzin' about, he would make us "pay" with a really bad movie "On purpose."

Well, after a long wait and a whole lot of hype for Sandler's big comedy comeback, the film finally arrived on the 7th of October. The movie stars Adam as Hubie Dubois, a good-natured but eccentric community volunteer who finds himself at the center of a real murder case on Halloween night.

Despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts (and its legendary Halloween celebration), Hubie is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. With an incredible cast including the likes of Kevin James, Maya Rudolph, Shaquille O’Neal, Rob Schneider, Ray Liotta, June Squibb, Steve Buscemi, Michael Chiklis, and Kenan Thompson.

Well, reviews are in and Mr.Sandler has gotten quite a few 'mixed' responses. While many are happy to see the hilarious actor back to his comedy ways, there were others who found the production a little disappointing. Starting off, CinemaBlend’s Eric Eisenberg gave the film a 2.5 in his review.

Saying, "After the daring leap off the high dive that was Uncut Gems, Hubie Halloween is a return to the kiddie pool for Adam Sandler." He also said that while the movie may "Surprise people who go in with basement level expectations, but it’s also not exactly heralding a new comedic era for the star." Ouch!

Well.. it's not like Sandler didn't warn us himself. However, during these crazy times, it couldn't hurt to sit back and watch an easy, feel-good Adam Sandler flick. On a more positive side, it's still early days and there's still a bit of time for some positive reviews. If you've watched the movie, be sure to let us know what you think!
