During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show last week, Tom Hanks spoke about his upcoming film, Elvis, and revealed one part of his role that he's not too fond of. Hanks was the first to joke about his bald head, which he'll be showing off in the movie and we've got all the details!
Hanks is playing Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in the newest Baz Luhrmann movie, and part of his transformation meant shaving his head. "Here, let me show you the horrible haircut I have to have in order to portray Colonel Tom Parker," Hanks said on The Graham Norton Show. "Check out this horrible - can you see that?"
"Look at that thing!" Hanks continued. "I just scared the children... I want to apologize for showing that." Tom joked that this new haircut makes him resemble another famous face, and he certainly had the audience laughing.
"What I really want to do is just have a little tuft of hair right here and then a big, big beard, and then everybody would think I'm Graham Norton!" Hanks joked. "Evidently, that's my new gig now, so I only play real people in show business."
This wasn't the first time Hanks showed off a shorter hairstyle - last spring, he also shaved his head for an at-home episode of Saturday Night Live and made some jokes about it then too. "It does save time in the shower, so maybe we should all do it," he said.
Elvis is expected to be released in November of 2021, so be sure to catch Tom Hanks' bald head on camera!
