So many people dream of traveling to space, and those who are given the opportunity are considered the lucky ones. However, comedian Ricky Gervais revealed that he recently turned down the chance to go. He was offered the opportunity to perform a comedy show up in the solar system, but he declined without giving it a second thought.

Many people couldn't understand why he would turn down such a unique opportunity, but he has his reasons, as he told Jimmy Fallon. "I was offered one of these things where you go up into space for 15 minutes," Gervais revealed. "And it was like a group of billionaires, and they offered me the chance to be the first comedian to do a stand-up show in space. No. I'm not going to risk it."

"These people have paid USD 300,000 to go into space and have a look around... and then they go there, and it's Ricky Gervais doing 10 minutes," he continued. "They can watch me on YouTube." Ultimately, Gervais explained that this opportunity doesn't seem like a good use of his time, as he has more pressing projects (on the ground) going on at the moment. For instance, he's currently working on season three of After Life, which he has extremely high hopes for.

He even promised fans that there will be at least one scene that will have viewers laughing harder than they've laughed before. "I've just written a 1-minute scene for #AfterLife3 where Brian tells the receptionist a joke that I know will be impossible to get through," Gervais shared.

"20 minutes of outtakes guaranteed. Can't wait," Ricky continued. Gervais is genuinely putting all of his efforts into After Life, as "This is the first time I wanted to do a third series of anything I've ever done," he explained. Gervais may not be making it out to space anytime soon, but he still has big plans for the future and promises to keep the comedy coming, even if it's just here on planet Earth.
