In a statement, Oprah said: “I was struck by the unique multi-layered approach to effect real change to the systematic barriers of access to healthy food, quality health care and educational opportunities.” She decided that a generous 3 mil will at least spark a start.

Oprah continued, “I know not everybody can donate a million dollars, but I feel like this is the central place to [donate to] if you really want to do something,” Winfrey said during their virtual interview. “I know I can trust my money in your hands.”
