Kelly Clarkson revealed that years ago, she signed an autograph as country singer Carrie Underwood, and she felt she had a completely valid reason for it. She was mistaken for Underwood and couldn't help but laugh at the fan's confusion and play along, all in good fun.

"This girl came up to me and was like 'Oh my god, your song So Small is one of my favorites,'" Clarkson revealed. "I kept thinking, 'I don't have a song So Small."

"And then she said another song and I was like, 'Oh, you think I'm Carrie Underwood,'" Clarkson added. "And I literally look nothing like Carrie Underwood." Once she came to this realization, Kelly played along with her mistaken identity.

"I was so embarrassed for her... She was like, 'Can you sign this?'" Clarkson explained. "And I totally signed 'Carrie Underwood.' I think that might be illegal!" she joked.

While Kelly and Carrie don't resemble each other in terms of looks, they have one thing in common that often groups them together. "Okay, we look nothing alike, we sound nothing alike, there's nothing about us that's similar, really, except we were both on Idol," Clarkson said.
