Adele joined the Saturday Night Live cast for an evening of laughter, hilarious skits, and impressive acting. The superstar proved herself a worthy host, and it's not the first time she has made audiences cackle.

The 32-year-old was the musical guest on SNL twice before, in 2008 and 2015. In her opening monologue, the singer explained why this time she was appearing as a host and not a musician. The reason was twofold: Adele's new album isn't finished and the star was too "scared" to assume both roles.

Musicians hosted SNL about two dozen times over in the last ten seasons, and it usually happened when the artist had a movie or TV show to promote. But the Grammy-winner's appearance may be less surprising when we look back at some of the many times she has made audiences laugh at concerts or talk shows.

When Adele accepted an award for her Bond theme song, Skyfall, at the Golden Globe Awards, she took the chance to show off her sense of humor. "Honestly, I've come out for a night out with my friend Ida. We're new moms. We've literally come for a night out, I was not expecting this!" the singer said.

The talented icon previously displayed her acting skills when she dressed up as "Jenny" to prank other Adele impersonators for the BBC. When one participant expressed excitement for the new album, "Jenny" made viewers laugh as she sarcastically replied, "She's taking her time."

In 2016, the performer showed her funny side once more when she dedicated a set of breakup songs to the newly separated Brangelina. "I need to address the elephant in the room... It's the end of an era," Adele told the amused audience. Perhaps the artist's next career venture should be a shot at stand-up comedy!
