Russell Brand turned in a memorable performance last night as host of the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, but it’s likely it wasn’t the kind of memorable he was hoping for. The would-be next big thing in American comedy, bungled his way through the show with bad jokes and forced apologies about promise rings. Welcome to America, Russell.
